FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 AM EDT THIS MORNING FOR NORTHERN BOYD, SOUTHEASTERN GREENUP, SOUTHWESTERN GALLIA, LAWRENCE, NORTHERN CABELL, NORTHERN KANAWHA, SOUTHWESTERN ROANE, JACKSON, SOUTHERN MASON, PUTNAM AND NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTIES
At 752 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. This includes the following highways
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 109 and 148. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 8
and between mile markers 10 and 46. Interstate 79 between mile markers 11 and 30.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. && LAT
