This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north-central and northeast Wisconsin.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Hazardous travel is expected this morning through the early afternoon from accumulating snowfall and strong winds. Additional accumulations around 3 to 5 inches will be possible across far northern to northeastern Wisconsin. Visibility may be limited at times due to blowing and drifting snow. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for areas across northern Wisconsin. Strong winds are expected with periodic gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect across much of central to east- central Wisconsin.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday A major snow storm event is expected Saturday night through Monday with a 70 to 95% probability of snowfall amounts of at least 12 inches across the area, accompanied by strong winds. Those with travel plans, including air travel, should monitor the weather closely and make alternative plans. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the entire area.

For the Winter Storm Warning, travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. For the Winter Storm Watch, the strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Whiteout and near blizzard conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
