This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland.
DAY ONE
Tonight A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until midnight for Hampshire and Hardy Counties. Thunderstorms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail through late this evening. A few severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts are expected over the central Shenandoah Valley and central Virginia late this afternoon & evening. Elsewhere, a line of storms may approach the area tonight accompanied by a risk of locally damaging wind gusts. A few instances of large hail are possible as well. The threat may be highest north of Highway 50 and Interstate 66. Heat Advisory is in effect for Nelson and Albemarle Counties, including the City of Charlottesville through 7 PM. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts are possible Friday afternoon and evening. Heat indices of near 100 to 105 degrees are possible Friday.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotters have been activated for this evening and spotter activation may be needed Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. &&
