AREAS OF DENSE FOG THIS MORNING
Areas of dense fog have developing in the mountains, foothills, and river valleys, and will persist through 10 AM in some areas. Motorists should exercise extra caution, reduce speed, allow extra travel time and following distance, and use low beam headlights.
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia, southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Severe storms will be possible today. Damaging winds is the main hazard, with a tornado or two possible for areas north of 460. Heavy rain could also lead to flash flooding today, with the greatest threat across portions of Southeast West Virginia.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday. Severe storms will be possible again on Monday. Damaging winds is the main hazard. Heavy rain could also lead to localized flash flooding.
