This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 5 PM for northern and central Maryland, northern Virginia, the Virginia Piedmont, northern Shenandoah Valley, and the Potomac HIghlands of West Virginia. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat. Additional severe storms with damaging wind gusts are possible through late this evening. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 PM today for central and western Virginia and Hampshire County West Virginia.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday Multiple disturbances are forecast to move from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic through the end of the week. Depending on timing, several rounds of severe thunderstorms are possible Thursday through Friday. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat. Heat indices will peak around 95 to 105 each afternoon, with the hottest conditions possible Thursday.
