THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 588 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING IN VIRGINIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA APPOMATTOX CAMPBELL CITY OF LYNCHBURG IN SOUTH CENTRAL VIRGINIA BEDFORD
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia, southwest Virginia and west central Virginia.
DAY ONE
This afternoon and tonight. Severe storms will be possible through tonight. Damaging winds are the main hazard, with an isolated tornado threat for areas north of 460. Heavy rain could also lead to flash flooding through tonight, with the greatest threat across portions of Southeast West Virginia.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday. Severe storms will be possible again on Monday. Damaging winds is the main hazard. Heavy rain could also lead to localized flash flooding.

Weather spotters are requested to report hail of any size, as well as any damage caused by thunderstorm winds in their area.
