PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.
DAY ONE
This afternoon and tonight. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 PM for most areas off the Caprock. A stray storm or two could develop on the Caprock through this evening. Any storms that do form will be capable of strong winds.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday. Thunderstorm chances continue Thursday evening and again on Friday, especially on the Caprock. Brief downpours and strong winds may accompany these storms. A Heat Advisory is in effect for locations off the Caprock from 1 PM to 8 PM on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to exceed 105 degrees for these locations.
