North Ward School Weather Advisory
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the eastern and portions of the central combined Panhandles as well as Palo Duro Canyon until 9 PM. Scattered thunderstorms in the central and eastern Panhandles today. There is a low chance for storms to be severe with damaging wind gusts as the primary concern. Critical Fire Weather in the eastern Panhandles today as fuels are extremely dry and we will have low RH values with breezy south winds. Additionally a greater concern is the potential for abundant lightning strikes from thunderstorms, leading to a higher risk of fire starts.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday. Increasing chances for daily Thunderstorms from Friday through Sunday night. Elevated fire conditions will continue to be a daily concern given the extremely dry fuels and breezy winds.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time. Area fire managers and emergency officials should be alert for elevated or critical fire weather conditions today.
