This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon for the far southeastern Texas Panhandle, Rolling Plains, and southeastern portions of the South Plains. Scattered thunderstorms are expected across the region this afternoon through this evening, especially to the east of the I-27 corridor. The strongest storms could produce wind gusts up to 70 mph and brief downpours. Lightning may also result in wildfire ignitions.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday. Very hot temperatures will continue through the weekend and into next week. Breezier conditions compared to the past several days may result in elevated fire danger across the region on Sunday and Monday.
