Today and Tonight Additional periods of showers and storms are expected today. Chances for severe weather are lower than recent days, but a few strong to severe storms along with localized flooding could occur.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday Saturday through Monday, central and southern valley areas may be looking at Heat Advisory criteria.

Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. WHERE
West Central Carter County in east Tennessee
South Central Sullivan County in east Tennessee
Northeastern Unicoi County in east Tennessee
Northeastern Washington County in east Tennessee
WHEN
Until 215 AM EDT. IMPACTS
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 1111 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include
Johnson City, Elizabethton, Central, Pine Crest, Midway, Oak Grove, Unicoi, Watauga and Milligan College. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. && LAT
