This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North Carolina
east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon with the highest coverage over northern and eastern areas. A few storms may become strong to severe with damaging winds the primary threat. Very heavy rainfall will also be possible which may lead to localized flooding. Very hot conditions can be expected especially over portions of southeast in the central and southern Tennessee Valley this afternoon, including Knoxville and Chattanooga. A Heat Advisory is in effect.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday Dangerous heat will continue Sunday and Monday afternoons, especially across the central and southern Tennessee Valley. Organized storms are expected near a cold front on Monday afternoon and evening. These storms may have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts across much of East Tennessee.

Any reports of thunderstorm wind damage or flooding are appreciated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
