This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for west central Minnesota, central South Dakota, north central South Dakota and northeast South Dakota.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Early this morning, patchy fog to areas of fog may form over the entire forecast area. At times, visibility may drop to a mile or lower. Use caution if you encounter fog while driving. Beginning this afternoon, heavy rain is expected to move into central South Dakota, expanding to cover the entire forecast area by tonight. Two inches or more of rainfall accumulation will be possible, with eastern and central South Dakota having a 40-60% chance to hit that threshold. Rainfall totals decrease moving north and west from those areas, but half an inch to an inch of rain can still be expected. A Sligt Risk for excessive rainfall leading to flooding, a level 2 out of 4 threat, is in place today.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday. Rain will linger Friday morning, mainly over eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. The heaviest showers and storms are expected to leave the area by Friday afternoon. Another Slight Risk for excessive rainfall leading to flooding is in place over parts of eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota for Friday.
