A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN PICKENS AND NORTHEASTERN OCONEE COUNTIES THROUGH 915 PM EST
At 851 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles north of Walhalla, or 4 miles north of Oconee State Park, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD
Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include
Salem, Devils Fork State Park, Oconee State Park, Lake Jocassee, Lake Keowee, Jocassee Gorges, Mountain Rest, and Bad Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Lake Jocassee or Lake Keowee, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Tonight. Scattered thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front through late tonight. There is a low-end threat for isolated severe storms to develop through the early evening hours. The main hazard with any severe storm that manages to develop is damaging wind gusts.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday. No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
