FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN BUCKS AND SOUTHEASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTIES
At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches have fallen within portions of the warned area leading to reports of flash flooding. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area as more heavy rainfall moves through late this afternoon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD

Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include
Philadelphia, Lansdale, East Norriton, Doylestown, Hatboro, Ambler, Chalfont, New Hope, Yardley, Newtown, Abington and Langhorne. This includes the following highways
Northeast Extension between mile markers 21 and 28. Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 333 and 348.

don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. && LAT

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
