Sunset Log Pond Weather Advisory
FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING
WHAT
Sub-freezing temperatures of 32 degrees or lower are possible. WHERE
In Oregon, Clackamas County Cascade Foothills, East Central Willamette Valley, Tualatin Valley, West Central Willamette Valley, and Central Oregon Coast Range Lowlands. In Washington, North Clark County Lowlands. WHEN
From late Friday night through Saturday morning. IMPACTS
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Frost and freeze headlines are only issued through the growing season of April 1 through October 31. Therefore, frost or freeze headlines will not be issued beginning November 1, even though similar low temperatures are possible. Additionally, frost and freeze headlines will no longer be issued this growing season for the Upper Hood River Valley, southern Willamette Valley, south Washington Cascade Foothills, and north Oregon Coast Range as these locations have already experienced a hard freeze earlier in October.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take steps now to protect tender outdoor plants from the cold. Consider temporarily moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they are sensitive to cold temperatures. Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight cotton fabric (i.e., bedsheets, thin blankets), as this will help retain heat and provide frost protection for your plants. &&
