Obryant Square Weather Advisories
DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PDT TODAY
FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THIS MORNING
WHAT
For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. For the Frost Advisory, temperatures of 36 degrees or lower will result in frost formation. WHERE
In Oregon, East Central Willamette Valley, East Portland Metro, Inner Portland Metro, Lower Columbia River, Tualatin Valley, and West Central Willamette Valley. In Washington, East Clark County Lowlands, Inner Vancouver Metro, and North Clark County Lowlands. WHEN
For the Dense Fog Advisory, until noon PDT today. For the Frost Advisory, until 9 AM PDT this morning. IMPACTS
Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Frost and freeze headlines are only issued through the growing season of April 1 through October 31. Therefore, frost or freeze headlines will not be issued beginning November 1, even though similar low temperatures are possible. Frost and freeze headlines will no longer be issued this growing season for the Upper Hood River Valley, southern Willamette Valley, south Washington Cascade Foothills, and north Oregon Coast Range as these locations have already experienced a hard freeze earlier in October.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Pedestrians and cyclists should wear bright or reflective clothing to increase the chances of being seen by others in poor visibility conditions. Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight cotton fabric (i.e., bedsheets, thin blankets), as this will help retain heat and provide frost protection for your plants. &&
AREAS OF FOG AND PATCHY FREEZING FOG IN THE VALLEYS
Areas of fog, some locally dense, have developed early this morning the Willamette Valley, Upper Hood River Valley, and southwest Washington lowlands, resulting in roadway visibility of one mile or less. Morning commuters should expected to encounter areas of rapidly changing visibility. Freezing fog is also possible this morning where temperatures have fallen below freezing. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. If walking or cycling, wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a light to increase your visibility to drivers.
