PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&

Intense heat is forecast yet again today ahead of a weak front. Afternoon heat indices between 105 and 115 degrees will be common, with the hottest numbers across east-central and northeast Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas. A few thunderstorms may develop along the weak front by late this afternoon or early this evening across far northeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas. The weak front will take some of the edge off the intense heat beginning Thursday, with the less intense heat persisting into early next week. Nevertheless, heat indices will range from 100 to 110 degrees each afternoon with no significant heat relief coming just yet. The weak boundary is expected to focus isolated storms across southeast Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas on Thursday.
