Periods of rain and thunderstorms will continue across southeast Oklahoma and into western Arkansas this evening and overnight. Locally heavy rainfall continues to be the main threat as 1 to 2 inches of additional rainfall will be possible through the overnight hours in these area. Localized flooding concerns could develop, primarily in urban or low lying areas. Additional scattered thunderstorm development will be possible across northeast Oklahoma along and ahead of a cold front that will move into the area this evening. Again, locally heavy rain along with some stronger wind gusts will be the main concern. Following the frontal passage late tonight, gusty northerly winds will filter into the region with gusts of 30 to 35 mph likely for a few hours directly behind the front. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue on Friday and Saturday primarily southeast of Interstate 44. Locally heavy rainfall may develop on Friday from southeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas.
