Early Afternoon. DISCUSSION
Numerous thunderstorms ongoing this morning will continue to spread south while gradually dissipating by early afternoon. A few strong winds gusts remain possible through the morning hours primarily across southeast Oklahoma. Dangerous heat stress conditions will develop again this afternoon across much of eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. Remember your heat safety precautions. Additional thunderstorms may develop late this afternoon and evening and locally strong downburst winds possible. Thunderstorm chances will continue into the overnight hours as thunderstorms attempt to spread southward into the region and continue into Saturday morning. Thunderstorm chances will continue through the weekend, with the greatest storm coverage expected on Saturday. A few marginally severe storms will be possible mainly Saturday afternoon and evening. Dangerous heat will continue for much of the next week, with afternoon heat index values from 100 to 110 degrees each day.
