Dangerous Heat Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION
Dangerous to very dangerous heat will persist into Wednesday, again with afternoon heat indices in the 105 to 115 degree range. A front is expected to focus isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms by late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night, mainly across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. These storms will carry a limited severe weather risk. The front will take the edge off the heat for Thursday across the north and Friday areawide, though afternoon heat indices will still top triple digits in most places. Dangerous heat will return over the weekend into the following week areawide, with low chances for mainly afternoon storms. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information.
