Northerly winds gusting 25 to locally near 40 mph transporting drier conditions into the region behind an exiting cold front will allow for limited to elevated fire weather danger this afternoon. The area of greater fire weather concern is along and west of Highway 75 in northeast Oklahoma, where the lower humidity and stronger wind gusts are forecast to be co-located. Breezy southerly winds quickly return Thursday helping to elevate fire weather concerns mainly northwest of Interstate 44 Thursday afternoon. Southerly winds increase Saturday ahead of another cold front forecast to move through Sunday morning and early afternoon. Low rain chances develop for far eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas ahead of the front.
