Dangerous heat is expected today, with afternoon heat index values in the 100 to 110 degree range. The highest heat index values will be near and south of Interstate 40 this afternoon. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas this evening and overnight.
