Afternoon heat indices will climb to between 100 and 105, just below Heat Advisory levels, across much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Limited fire weather danger conditions will exist areawide. Winds will be stronger across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, but fuels are more favorable across southeast Oklahoma due to lack of recent rainfall. Stronger southwest winds on Saturday across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas will again raise fire weather concerns. A cold front will bring increasing rain and thunderstorm chances this weekend into early next week, especially on Sunday afternoon.
