Thunderstorm chances continue on Monday with any afternoon storms focused along and south of Interstate 40. Locally strong downburst winds will remain possible with any afternoon and evening storms. High heat stress conditions will persist along and south of Interstate 40 with slightly cooler temperatures further north. The break in the heat will be short-lived with very hot conditions returning areawide for Tuesday and especially Wednesday. Low thunderstorm chances return during the second half of the week.
