Thunderstorm Potential
High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION
A strong storm system will impact the area Monday into early Tuesday. Gusty south winds will prevail ahead of the system during the day Monday, and a few scattered showers and storms may develop, especially during the afternoon. As the main storm system moves into the area late Monday and Monday evening, a line of storms is likely to organize to our west and sweep east across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas late Monday evening into early Tuesday morning. Some of these storms may be severe, with damaging winds being the main severe weather threat. A limited tornado threat will also exist Monday evening, especially across parts of northeast Oklahoma. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible, although fast storm motions will keep any flooding concerns fairly limited. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information.
