FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE SOUTH FORK BURN SCAR REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL LINCOLN COUNTY
At 429 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the South Fork Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen along Main Road in the Upper Canyon area. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact Upper Canyon, Brady Canyon, Perk Canyon, and Flume Canyon outlets into the Rio Ruidoso drainage. Impacts will include but are not limited to all nearby reservoirs, bridges, culverts and roadways. Impacts to areas along the Rio Ruidoso may extend downstream of Ruidoso Downs. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks, streams and ditches in the South Fork Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters, climb to safety. && LAT
