North Central Sierra County in south central New Mexico
WHEN
Until 945 PM MDT. IMPACTS
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 749 PM MDT, Thunderstorms with torrential rainfall rates are pushing north across the northwest shore of Elephant Butte Lake. Rainfall amounts exceeding 1 inch have occurred west of Lakeshore Highlands and east of Interstate 10. This may cause flooding along Lakeshore Road as runoff flows towards the east. Lower Alamosa Canyon may also be impacted. - Some locations that will experience flooding include
Rock House, Alamosa Canyon, Lakeshore Highlands, Lost Canyon, Elephant Butte Lake, Rock Canyon and South Monticello Campground. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
