FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT
WHAT
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. WHERE
Portions of western, central, and north-central New Mexico, mainly along and west of the Continental Divide. WHEN
Through late Thursday night. IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- A potent Pacific storm system will draw up anomalously high moisture into the Desert Southwest, generating repeated rounds of widespread showers and thunderstorms. Fast moving thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall will have the ability to pass over the same areas repeatedly, threatening flash flooding. Rainfall amounts through late Thursday night will generally range from 0.75 inch to 1.5 inch in most areas, with locally higher totals up to 3 inches. - This includes Farmington, Gallup, Zuni Pueblo, and portions of Navajo Nation. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
