Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 530 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include

Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, Northwest Suffolk, Richmond (Staten Island), Southern Nassau, Southern Queens, Southern Westchester and Southwest Suffolk. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- A period of heavy rainfall is possible as showers and a few thunderstorms move through the area late this afternoon and evening. Peak hourly rainfall rates could reach 2 to 2.5 inches.
