This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.
DAY ONE
TODAY AND TONIGHT
High temperatures and heat indices around 105 degrees are forecast today east of Highway 83. These temperatures put additional stress on the body, especially the young and elderly. Isolated storms are forecast to develop along and south of Interstate 70 during the afternoon with the potential for wind gusts up to 60 mph and dry lightning which may lead to fire starts. Damage to property and crops may be possible with the winds. The main round of storms is forecast to move in from the west around 6 PM this evening. Wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail around half dollar size is possible. This may injure anyone outdoors and may damage siding and crops. The severe weather threat will end around midnight.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
High temperatures around 105 degrees are possible Tuesday across the Tri- State area with minimal cooling Monday night. These temperatures put additional stress on the body, especially the young and elderly. Near daily chances for at least isolated strong to severe storms through the majority of the upcoming week.
