This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight. A Heat Advisory is in effect for areas near and southeast of a line from Alma, NE to Osceola, NE. Heat index values as high as 110 degrees are expected this afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms may develop across portions of the area this afternoon and again tonight. Severe weather is not expected.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday. The Heat Advisory continues Saturday, with afternoon heat index values peaking in the 102 to 106 degree range. Thunderstorms are possible across mainly western and northern portions of the area on Saturday. Strong to marginally severe storms are possible mainly Saturday evening into Saturday night with large hail and damaging winds. Next week will trend cooler, but some parts of the area may still see heat index values over 100 degrees Sunday through Tuesday.
