This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.
DAY ONE
TODAY AND TONIGHT
Strong to severe storms are forecast to develop this afternoon across eastern Colorado and trek east into northwest Kansas. Wind gusts up to 70 mph is the primary hazard. Localized dust storms with visibility falling below 1 mile is also possible with the strongest wind gusts. This would pose an impact to travel and air quality. Locally critical fire weather conditions are possible for a few hours late this morning and through the afternoon for counties along the Kansas/Colorado state as humidity falls into the low teens and winds gust 25-30 mph. Dry lightning is also a concern with any storms that develop which may lead to new fire starts which could have the potential to spread with the critical conditions in place.
