This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight. Heat index values near 100 or slightly above 100 degrees are possible during the afternoon-early evening hours today for mainly south and southeast portions of the forecast area. Scattered thunderstorms are possible beginning in the evening and continuing into the overnight hours mainly for areas along and north of I-80. The strongest storms will be capable of producing wind gusts around 60 mph and hail up to around the size of quarters.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Afternoon heat index values around 100 to 106 degrees will be possible across mainly southern and eastern portions of the forecast area each afternoon Wednesday through Sunday.
