This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. A Heat Advisory will be in effect from noon until 7PM for Nuckolls and Thayer counties in Nebraska as well as Rooks, Smith, Osborne, Jewell and Mitchell counties in Kansas. Heat index values in these areas are expected to rise to as high as 105 to 109 degrees this afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms will continue to pass in and out of the full area trough the rest of the day. Though not every storm will become severe, a few strong to marginally severe storms will still remain possible, especially across portions of the area south of a line from Harlan to Polk counties mainly this afternoon and tonight. The strongest storms could carry hail up to the size of quarters, produce wind gusts in excess of 60MPH or deposit heavy rainfall that could contribute to localized areas of flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Scattered storm chances return this weekend.
