Pate Pond Weather Advisory
FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT SATURDAY
WHAT
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. WHERE
A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Wake, Wayne and Wilson. WHEN
Until 8 AM EDT Saturday. IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall are expected today and possibly into tonight and early Saturday. A stalled front over the region will combine with anomalously moist conditions and very unstable air, supporting thunderstorms with intense rainfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour. These rates will support a risk of flash flooding. Rainfall totals of 2 to locally 5 inches are likely in the watch area through early Saturday. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
