FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. WHERE
Northeastern Person County in central North Carolina
WHEN
Until 215 AM EDT. IMPACTS
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 1210 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. && LAT

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. There is a Slight risk (level 2 of 4) of excessive rainfall today into tonight, especially areas south and east of the Triad. Slow moving storm clusters may produce locally heavy rainfall and areas of flooding. In addition, there is a Marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of isolated strong to severe storms this afternoon and evening, with damaging winds as the primary threat.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday. Isolated pockets of excessive rainfall are possible Saturday, primarily over the Sandhills and Coastal Plain. Otherwise, there is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.
