PATCHY DENSE FOG THIS MORNING ACROSS THE EASTERN PIEDMONT, SANDHILLS AND COASTAL PLAIN
Patchy dense fog has developed early this morning. Most locations may just experience low overcast, but isolated locations and a handful of observations have reported visibility as low as a quarter of a mile. Gradual improvement is expected through 9 or 10 AM. If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.

DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards. Heat Advisory. In addition, there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The main hazard is damaging wind. Locally heavy rain may also occur. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday. There is a slight risk of flash flooding Friday into Friday night. Flash flooding will be possible, especially in urban areas. There is also a marginal risk of severe storms Friday, mainly in the afternoon and early evening. The main threat will be from wet microbursts (heavy rain and damaging wind gusts).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
