This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Limited extreme heat risk. DISCUSSION
Nighttime lows in the lower to middle 70s in extreme southeast Kansas and extreme southwest Missouri will provide little heat relief for areas that saw highs near 100 degrees today.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday. There is a 30 to 50 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms to move through southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri Saturday morning. Frequent lightning and damaging wind gusts to 60 mph could occur in a few storms west of Springfield however the overall severe threat remains very low. Heat Index values in the 90s to around 100 will be common at times this weekend into next week with the highest values west of Springfield.
