Old Kehres Pond Weather Advisories
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Limited lightning risk. Significant extreme heat risk. Elevated fire weather risk. DISCUSSION
Heat index values around 105 to 110 degrees will occur across the area again this afternoon into early this evening. Limited relief will occur during the overnight hours as lows only cool into the middle 70s to the lower 80s. There is a low chance (less than 20 percent) for an isolated thunderstorm across portions of central Missouri today. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds would be possible if storms can develop. Coverage will be limited and most locations should remain dry today.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday. Heat index values around 105 to 110 degrees will persist into the upcoming weekend. Longevity of extreme heat with limited relief during the night will elevate the heat risk and potential impacts. Extensive periods of hot temperatures, somewhat dry air, and a bit of breezy winds may lead to quick drying of fuels and locally elevated fire weather. Additional shower and thunderstorm chances (10 to 30 percent) will occur across portions of the area early next week.
