Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Limited lightning risk. Elevated extreme heat risk. DISCUSSION
Above normal heat continues today with highs in the 90s to near 100 degrees. Heat Index values will be between 100 and 105. The Heat Advisory continues. There is a less than 20% chance for a pop-up thunderstorm east of Highway 65 this afternoon.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday. The Heat Advisory continues until Saturday evening. A frontal passage is expected later in the weekend which will bring cooler temperatures and more widespread rain chances.
