This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky and southeast Missouri.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. Heat index values will reach the lower 100s south of the Interstate 64 corridor. See the Special Weather Statement for details. There is a small chance of thunderstorms forecast this afternoon north of Interstate 64 and in northern parts of southeast Missouri.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday. A late season heat wave is forecast Tuesday through Thursday. Daily peak heat index values of 103 to 108 degrees are forecast. A small chance of thunderstorms returns to the forecast during the heat of the day on Friday and Saturday.

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
Triple Digit Heat Index Values Today
High temperatures today will reach the lower to middle 90s. Combined with the humidity, heat index values will rise to near or just above 100 degrees this afternoon. If you have outdoor plans, prepare for impacts from the heat by staying hydrated, wearing cool, loose-fitting clothing and, taking frequent breaks in the shade or in an air-conditioned location.
