Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Elevated extreme heat risk. Elevated fire weather risk. DISCUSSION
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect now through Sunday evening. Daily Heat Index values between 100 and 110 degrees are expected. The heat combined with the lack of recent rainfall and drying fuels will result in an elevated grassland fire risk today.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday. The prolonged heat wave will continue through at least early next week, with daily highs in the middle 90s to low 100s, and maximum Heat Index values around 100 to 110.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
