DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Elevated extreme heat risk. Elevated fire weather risk. DISCUSSION
Hot and dry weather ahead to begin the week, with minimum afternoon relative humidity values around 25 to 35 percent. South- southwest winds this afternoon, with occasional wind gusts up to 20 to 25 mph. This will support some highly localized fire weather, particularly with regards to finer fuels such as grass. This is for areas west of the Highway 65 corridor. Highs this afternoon in the middle 90s to low 100s. Maximum afternoon heat index values around 100 to 105. Minimal overnight relief with lows in the middle to upper 70s. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Tuesday through Sunday. A prolonged heat wave is expected through this week, with daily highs in the middle 90s to low 100s, and maximum heat index values around 100 to 105 or higher.
