DAY ONE
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT Periods of light to moderate rain will continue through the early evening, especially for areas along and east of the Mississippi River. Additional amounts of a half inch to one and a half inches will be possible. This rain on top of already saturated ground may result in ponding of water on roads and poorly drained areas and cause creeks, streams, and rivers to rise. A flood watch remains in effect for the Quad Cities and portions of northwest Illinois. Area rivers are experiencing flooding. Please see the latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details.

The river is rising rapidly. - Forecast
The river will rise above flood stage late this afternoon to 18.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight to 14.8 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will rise to 15.4 feet Sunday evening. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. && LAT
