This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern West Virginia, northern and central Virginia, and central and western Maryland.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight Heat Advisory is in effect for Nelson and Albemarle Counties, including the City of Charlottesville through 7 PM. A few severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts are expected over the central Shenandoah Valley this afternoon. A complex of thunderstorms is likely to develop over Ohio this afternoon. This line of storms may approach the area this evening, accompanied by a risk of damaging wind gusts. A few instances of large hail or flooding are possible, as well. The threat may be highest north of Highway 50 and Interstate 66.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts are possible Friday afternoon and evening. Heat indices of near 100 to 105 degrees are possible Friday.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation may be needed tonight and Friday.
