This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight Heat indices this afternoon into the early evening will be in the 105 to 108 degree range. Refer to the excessive heat warning for additional details.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday Heat indices for Wednesday through Friday are expected to be at or above 105. For Saturday, heat indices across southern Kansas are forecast to be around 105 degrees. An isolated storm or two may be possible after 4 pm Wednesday for areas along and north of Interstate 70. Storms will then be possible each night during the Thursday night through Saturday night time frame, with western and central Kansas having the higher chances. A few strong storms appear possible along with pockets of heavy rainfall.
