This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight Scattered showers and storms are expected this afternoon while lingering into the overnight hours. Some storms could be strong to marginally severe this afternoon and evening, capable of producing downbursts with wind gusts between 55 and 65 mph, especially across south central and parts of central Kansas and the Flint Hills. Additionally, some storms will produce heavy rain, and this may lead to localized flooding. Heat indices will hit or exceed 105 across portions of southeast Kansas this afternoon. DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday Scattered showers and storms could linger across central Kansas Wednesday morning. Heavy rain and localized flooding cannot be ruled out. Periodic chances for showers and storms will return late Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.
