Stockton Junior High School Weather Advisory
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight. - Limited heat concerns this afternoon in north central Kansas: Heat index could reach or slightly exceed 100 degrees
mainly in portions of Rooks, Osborne and Mitchell counties. - Thunderstorm chances and limited severe weather potential: At least the vast majority of our forecast area will remain thunderstorm-free through at least 8 PM. Thereafter, mainly isolated to scattered thunderstorm activity will be possible almost anywhere in our area through the evening and overnight hours. Most storms that occur will be weak, but there is mainly a Marginal Risk that a few could be strong to severe, with the main hazards being hail up to around the size of ping pong balls and/or wind gusts to around 60 MPH. Any severe storms would be most favored to occur between 9 PM and 5 AM. In addition, very localized parts of our area could receive at least 1 inch of rain tonight, which could cause mainly minor/short-term flooding issues
especially if it falls over some of the same places already saturated from earlier rain.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. - Additional thunderstorm chances and occasional severe weather potential, mainly Wednesday through Sunday: Mainly between Wednesday and Sunday, there will be various, occasional chances for thunderstorms within various parts of our forecast area. The predictability of these various chances, including most favored locations and potential storm severity, will be difficult to determine
especially more than 24 hours in advance. However, at this time most or all of our forecast area is currently assigned a Marginal Risk for the potential for a few severe storms both Wednesday and Thursday
mainly for the late afternoon and evening hours.
