This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Scattered thunderstorms are expected across portions of central, south-central, and southeast Kansas through the morning hours. While widespread severe weather is unlikely, a few of the strongest storms may be capable of dime to quarter size hail, 60 mph winds, and locally heavy rainfall. Triple digit heat indices are expected this afternoon through early evening over portions of south-central and southeast Kansas. Additional thunderstorms may arrive over central and north-central Kansas late tonight, with pea to dime size hail and 50 mph winds possible.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday Thunderstorms may linger over central and east-central Kansas Sunday morning, with pea to dime size hail and 50 mph winds possible. Periodic thunderstorm chances are forecast to continue across the region Sunday night through next week, with the highest chances generally during the evening, night, and morning hours. Periodic triple digit heat indices are expected Sunday through next week, highest during the afternoon and early evening over mainly southern Kansas.
