This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight Isolated storms are possible mainly along and north of Interstate 70 through the evening hours. Small hail and damaging downburst winds will be the main threat from the stronger storms.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday Afternoon and early evening heat indices Monday through Wednesday will be near 105 degrees across the entire area. For Thursday and Friday, southern Kansas will likely still see heat indices in the 100 to 105 degree range. Off-and-on thunderstorm chances are expected beginning Wednesday evening across central Kansas, then across the entire region Thursday evening into the weekend. A few strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, along with pockets of heavy rainfall.
